About Neuroblastoma
Neuroblastoma is a kind of tumor with low incidence but high malignant degree, commonly found in infants and young children, and also known as the king of childhood tumors because of its high mortality rate. Neuroblastoma is not easy to be detected because it is relatively hidden and asymptomatic in the early stage, and most of the children with symptoms have already developed into advanced and high-risk stage, which makes the treatment of these children with neuroblastoma very difficult and their prognosis is poor, therefore, the treatment of children with high-risk of neuroblastoma has been a great challenge for a long time. Currently, there are nearly 2,000 newly diagnosed children in China each year, and most of them are stage 4 high-risk at the time of diagnosis. In previous years, there were no immunotherapeutic drugs for children with neuroblastoma in China, resulting in a 5-year long-term survival rate of less than 50% for high-risk children in China. 2020, with the operation of China’s Boao Advanced Medical Demonstration Zone in Hainan Province, two immunotherapeutic drugs targeting neuroblastoma, Ch1418 and Hu3F8, have been introduced into China. Hu3F8 for neuroblastoma have entered China, bringing hope to a large number of Chinese children and their families.
